2024 Chevrolet Camaro: Engine Power and Performance

Two transmissions are available for the base powertrain: a manual six-speed or a 10-speed automatic. The Camaro’s 455 horsepower small-block V-8, with 455 pound-feet of torque, is the real performance engine. The six-cylinder has a distinctly searing sound, but the small block offers more power and torque.

Dual-mode exhaust produces a booming sound at wide-open throttle and, at start-up, a sharp bark, adding to its tremendous low-end torque and linear power delivery. Although to a six-speed manual transmission, the V-8 is also available with a 10-speed automatic transmission, so there’s something for every enthusiast.

The Camaro is the only pony car with an astonishing chassis that connects the driver and car like never before. A solid structure makes it handle precise and has a quality feel. Its suspension is well set, providing a strong ride suitable for taking curves while remaining compliant over rougher terrain.

When equipped with the 1LE package, the coupes can compete with far more expensive and luxurious sports cars. The 1LE-equipped vehicles are sporty on the track yet comfortable on the highway. Their electric power steering systems provide little effort and quick reaction times.

The hot Chevy’s outstanding brakes round off the vehicle’s trinity of performance features, offering a steady level of progressive and comforting pedal reaction. The 1LE vehicles have upgraded Brembo brakes, making them track-ready.

The V-6 Camaro gets 18 mpg in the city, while the V-8 version gets 16 mpg and 26 highways. Despite the high speed, the Camaro was fuel-efficient on the road.

Interior and Infotainment

The interior of the new Camaro is nicer than the previous generation. It has quality materials and a much more modern style.  It has comfy front seats and a simple layout, however, its back seat is painfully tiny and it’s hard to see out of it, so it’s not a good choice as a family car.

The Camaro can also come with customization lighting effects inside, which gives it a cool look. The Chevy is better on the track and more fun to drive than its competitors, but adults can’t sit in the back seat. The Camaro also doesn’t have enough space for cargo or storage inside. It had less space for carry-on suitcases than its competitors and a trunk opening that was so small it was funny.

Every Camaro has adaptable touchscreens that work with Chevy’s Infotainment 3 system. Even though the 8.0-inch touchscreen renders better use of available accommodation, it looks cheap because it has a plastic border and tilts down. Apart from that, it has a good mix of well-systematic buttons and menu items. Every Chevy has a high-tech infotainment system with Wi-Fi, wireless Apple CarPlay, and Android Auto. You shouldn’t need to attach your phone via USB to use these features.
